Matlas Privacy Policy
Matlas is a practice-planning app for wrestling coaches. Coaches build a drill library, assemble practice plans, and put them on a season calendar; their athletes see the practices assigned to them.
We do not sell your data, we do not advertise, and we do not track you across other apps or websites. Matlas contains no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, and no third-party trackers. The information below is collected because the product cannot work without it.
There are minors in this app. Section 6 is the part that matters most to a parent, a coach, or an athletic director, and it is written to be read on its own.
1. Who we are
Zacherl Investments LLC operates Matlas and is responsible for the information described here.

2. What we collect
Your account
- Name. Shown to your teammates and coaches.
- Email address. Used to sign you in and to reach you about your account. If you sign in with Apple and choose to hide your address, we receive Apple's private relay address and never see your real one.
- Date of birth. Required, and collected for one reason: to know whether you are a minor, and to refuse accounts for children under 13. See section 6.
- A profile photo, if one is set. Optional.
Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never visible to us.
Your team
When you join or create a team we record your role (head coach, assistant coach, or athlete), your membership status, the date you joined, and — for athletes — graduation year and weight class, if entered. A team has a name, a level, and a join code.
What you create
Drills, practice plans, notes, calendar entries, and the assignment of a practice to the team or to particular athletes. Athletes may check a practice off as completed; that check-off is recorded. Coaches may keep private notes on a drill or a plan block, which are stored separately from the drill itself and are readable only by coaches of that team.
Video
Coaches can add video two ways. Uploaded clips are stored with our video host and can be played only by members of the team that owns them, through a short-lived signed link; there is no public URL. Links to YouTube or Vimeo store only the address — the video stays on that service, and when it plays, that service sees the viewer as it would on any web page. Athletes cannot upload.
Purchases
Subscriptions are sold by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your card, bank, or Apple Pay details. What we store is the record needed to know that a team is paid: an Apple transaction identifier, which plan was bought, whether it came from Apple's sandbox or production environment, and when it expires.
On your device
Matlas keeps a local copy of your upcoming practices, drill details, and video thumbnails so that today's practice opens in a wrestling room with no signal. That cache lives on your phone and is removed when you sign out or delete the app. Practice-clock cues are scheduled locally on your device; Matlas sends no push notifications.
3. What we do not collect
- No advertising or cross-app tracking. We do not use the Advertising Identifier and never ask for tracking permission.
- No analytics or behavioural profiling. There is no third-party analytics SDK in the app.
- No location. Matlas never requests it.
- No contacts, and no music library. The practice clock can pause and resume playback that is already running; it does not read what you listen to.
- No payment details, as above.
- No guardian email. Earlier versions asked minors for a parent's address at signup. We stopped, deliberately: an unverified address on file is not consent, and asking for it gave a false impression that it was.
4. Who can see what
Access is enforced in the database, not merely hidden in the app.
- Everything is scoped to a team. No coach, athlete, or team sees another team's drills, plans, practices, or film.
- An athlete sees a practice only if it has been published to them — either to the whole team, or to that athlete personally.
- Athletes never see who else was assigned extra work. An athlete can read their own assignment rows and no one else's.
- Coaches' private notes are coach-only.
- Joining is approved, not automatic. Anyone entering a team's join code lands in a pending list until a coach approves them, and the code is rate-limited.
- Uploaded film has no public link. Playback requires a signed URL that is issued only to a member of that team and expires in a few hours.
5. Who else touches your data
We use three service providers, and no others:
- Supabase — database, sign-in, and server functions. Stores everything in section 2 except uploaded video.
- Bunny.net (Bunny Stream) — hosting and delivery of uploaded clips.
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, and App Store purchases and renewals.
They process this data to run Matlas for us and for no purpose of their own. If a coach adds a YouTube or Vimeo link, playing it is a visit to that service and their privacy policy applies to that playback.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We disclose information outside these providers only when the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.
6. Athletes under 18
High-school wrestling is squarely in scope, so most athletes using Matlas are minors. This is how that is handled.
- Children under 13 cannot create an account. Date of birth is required at signup and an under-13 birthdate is refused. Matlas is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If we learn we have, we delete it.
- A minor's data is the same short list as anyone's: name, email, date of birth, team, graduation year and weight class if entered, practice check-offs, and any film a coach records of practice.
- Film of minors is private by default. Token-authenticated playback, no public links, no sharing outside the team.
- Athletes cannot post, upload, or message. There is no chat, no feed, and no way for an athlete to publish anything to anyone. Their only write action is checking a practice off.
- A parent, guardian, school, or district can have a minor's data removed. A coach can do it from the app in one action — removing an athlete from the roster and erasing their name, birthdate, and photo — or you can write to us at zacherlinvestmentsllc@gmail.com and we will do it.
Matlas has no relationship with any school district today. If a district asks us to sign a student-data agreement, we will negotiate it directly with them.
7. Deleting your account and your data
You can delete your account from inside Matlas, on any screen that offers Sign out. It takes effect immediately and is not a support ticket. Before anything happens the app tells you exactly what will be deleted, by count.
- If you are an athlete, or belong to no team, your account and your own rows are deleted.
- If you are a coach and other active coaches remain, only you are deleted. The team, its drills, plans, and film survive with your authorship removed.
- If you are a team's only remaining coach, the team is deleted with you — its drills, plans, practices, film, and memberships. Its athletes lose that team and their check-off history. The confirmation names each of those numbers first.
Leaving a team is the smaller option: it drops your membership and your assignments, and keeps your account.
Deleting an account requires typing DELETE and proving your identity again, so an unlocked phone in the wrong hands cannot do it.
8. How long we keep things
We keep your information while your account exists, and delete it when you delete your account, as above. Two things behave differently, and you should know about both:
- Past practices are frozen and cannot be edited. Once a practice date passes, what was run that day is preserved as a record for the coaching staff. It holds drill titles, timings, and notes — not personal information about athletes — and it is deleted with its team.
- Deleted video is removed from our host in batches, not instantly, because the deletion runs against the video service separately. A copy may persist there briefly after it disappears from the app.
If a team's subscription lapses, athletes stop seeing practices after a grace period. Nothing is deleted — the coach's library and history are intact and return when the plan is renewed.
9. Your rights
You can see and correct your own name, photo, and birthdate in the app at any time, and delete your account as described above. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to request a copy of what we hold, to ask us to correct or delete it, or to object to how we use it. Write to zacherlinvestmentsllc@gmail.com and we will answer within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for asking.
10. Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access rules are enforced in the database itself, so a bug in the app cannot expose another team's data. Privileged credentials — including the key to our video host — live only on the server and are never shipped inside the app. No system is perfect, but these are the boundaries we hold.
11. Where your data is held
Matlas is operated from the United States and your information is stored and processed there. If you use Matlas from elsewhere, you are sending your information to the United States.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or who we share it with, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged in the app before they take effect.
